Youth Engagement Paper

The “Aboriginal Youth Engagement Protocol” is a document outlining guidelines and principles for Aboriginal Youth Engagement. It was developed by a group of Aboriginal and/or Youth organizations in Vancouver, including the Centre for Native Policy Research (CNPR), Knowledgeable Aboriginal Youth Association (KAYA), Redway BC, Redwire Magazine, N8V AYS, and the McCreary Centre. PAYC has been involved in developing and providing feedback on this paper, and has attended a number of meetings in the past 6 months. The purpose of the paper is to provide organizations with guidelines for how to engage Aboriginal youth. It has been suggested that this paper could be used to form a Memorandum of Understanding that could be endorsed by various organizations. These organizations, in signing the document, would thus be committing to meaningful youth engagement within their decision making structures. For more information, check out:
